This document provides some useful information about how to send us content for inclusion in your web site, or multimedia project.
We can accept printed text as source copy, but it is not ideal, and generally we ask that all text is submitted in electronic format, preferably as a Word document, or even in an email. Please make sure all text is final and checked for spelling, grammar and punctuation, unless we are undertaking creative writing, in which case we will do this for you.
If Spherics are dealing with any creative writing for your project we will still need some basic text to work from. Please compose your rough text electronically so that changes and revisions can easily be tracked.
We accept electronic text in the following formats: doc, txt, pdf, rtf, html, xml.
Please send us the highest quality and largest size versions you have of any source photography. Smaller images may be usable for web, but it is always better to start with a larger version, and reduce if needed. If taking pictures specifically for inclusion in a Spherics project, please set your camera to take the largest, and finest resolution JPEG images, or better, still, use RAW mode to capture pictures with no compression, for ultimate quality and post-editing flexibility. If you are providing physical prints for inclusion, please allow additional time to allow us to scan and prepare them. We can of course, return all originals photos submitted.
We accept pictures in most formats, including: JPEG, Bitmaps, TIFF, Targa, PSD, EPS, AI, PNG, GIF, PDF. Generally, the only formats we reject are images embedded in Word, Publisher, or frontPage files, which are almost universally of poor quality and low resolution.
For all but the smallest sized print jobs, high quality and large photos are essential, and low resolution images are not generally acceptable. If you cannot supply artwork of the correct size, ask us about the possibility of converting what you do have into resolutionless vector art, which can then be deployed at much larger sizes with no loss in quality.
It is best to send us photos for print in an uncompressed format, such as TIFF, or RAW, although JPEGs with very high quality settings are sometimes acceptable.
As with still images, please provide us with the highest quality version of any video you submit for inclusion. We can read from DVD, and some camera source media, but is generally best to provide us with extracted, raw digital footage. Please ask for details.
We accept video in the following formats: avi, wmv, divX, X-Vid, flv, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, M-JPEG.
Small pre-existing sounds you would like included in your project can be sent to us in the highest quality format you have them in a zip file attached to an email. Larger soundtracks, and other source material can be usually read direct from almost any source, but we do not recommend using any audio presented on cassette tape, dictaphones, or other very low quality formats. However, in cases where no alternative exists, we can often 'rescue' and restore damaged or poor audio, and substantially improve it with a mastering session.
We accept audio in the following formats: wav (2205kHz, 16 bit minimum), midi, mp3, CD-A, CD-R, Minidisc, video source, DAT.
If we are building you a content managed, or E-commerce based site, it may be that we are uploading the initial range of products into the software for you. If this is the case, please make sure that we have available the following information:
Product Title, Product Price, your catalogue numbering system, the product description, and product photos, and related products / cross sells (if applicable).
