Case Study

Authentic Aquarius Spherics were first introduced to Julia Champney, and her partner Rob, founders of Authentic Aquarius, by a mutual acquaintance, and we were approached about the creation of a brand new website.

Authentic Aquarius sells Gallery quality artwork based on and around water crystals.

This website would need to be a completely immersive multimedia experience, incorporating and seamlessly integrating a full shopping E-commerce environment within a high-design framework and supported by many multimedia elements.

We chose to build the site primarily in HTML and PHP, but relied heavily on a diverse range of multimedia elements including a full site soundtrack, a gallery, and multiple animations.

We particularly wanted the shopping section of the site to blend in seamlessly with our overall site design, so customised every possible aspect of our chosen E-commerce solution to achieve a high quality result.

While the site was under development, Spherics were asked to consult on the existing product range, and subsequent test prints revealed that the original artwork supplied was lacking vibrancy and impact.

Spherics considered numerous ways of addressing the issue, and produced several proof of concept digital artworks incorporating the original crystal photos, and Julia & Rob liked these, and commissioned us to create the entire Authentic Aquarius product range.

This has been an exciting creative process, and has been ongoing for many months. Initially, low resolution proof-of-concept ideas were designed, and of the 36 initial images, most were chosen for development, and added into the Authentic Aquarius range for sale.

Shortly after we received excellent test prints, Spherics were handed overall control of production design and co-ordination throughout Authentic Aquarius as a whole, and were given the responsibility of liaising with all our printers, acting as quality control, and general project management.

All this time, Spherics were managing the website development, which neared completion in January 2007.

At this point AA transferred away from their existing hosting solution and moved hosting responsibility to Spherics as well.

We have also been involved in all production artwork and branding for the company, and have produced multiple advertisements, flyers, promotional music, business cards, and web banners to support AA's comprehensive and enthusiastic marketing strategies.

Over our time working with the company we have become great friends with our clients, and look forward to working with them again and helping them to develop any future projects.
